Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Music Composition Program returns to campus August 6-12, 2012, and in addition to performances from the Vermont Jazz Ensemble (August 10) and the Callithumpian Consort (August 11), the Program will host an inaugural Sound Gallery.

Open to the public during the week of August 6-12, this special audio exhibition will include four listening stations featuring selected works by current MFA students and faculty members, representing a variety of musical genres.

In addition, in the South Gallery there will be a live recording station where visitors can share thoughts and stories about the meaning of music in their own lives.  Questions will be available to prompt conversation and responses.  Or, bring an instrument and play!

The Sound Gallery will be held in VCFA’s College Hall Gallery (formerly the TW Wood Gallery). The public is invited and encouraged to participate.
